First Date

That next Sunday at ward prayer, Brian finally got to talk to me. We talked for a while and I was about to go home and Brian convinced me to go to his apartment for a minute. When we got there we interrupted one of Brian's roommates being home taught, but Brian wouldn't let me leave. It was October and Brian's mom had sent Brian and his brother Jeremy a bunch of Halloween decorations. One of them was this creepy arm that crawled around, and Brian got that out to show me. Finally I said I really had to go home, and then Brian asked me out for that Friday. I said I couldn't because my old roommate Lauren was coming into town, but I said I could go on Thursday. Then I went home and told my roommates where I had been for the last hour and a half, and told them that Brian had asked me out. Then we turned on some girly song and danced around the apartment like a bunch of cheesey girls.

--Side note, in the last post I mentioned that Brian loved my curly hair, but on the day he asked me out, my hair was straight for the only time in my life. I have not done it straight since then because to get it like this it took two roommates 1-2 hours. There is no way I am going to do that by myself.

Anyway, that week Brian kept asking me what I wanted to do for the date. I kept telling him that he asked me out, so he had to plan it. Finally Bree offered him some ideas, then he told them to me and I picked bowling.

The Date
Brian came and picked me up. We ended up walking to the Wilk to go bowling because it was a nice warm night. As we walked Brian chose the way and it was the most random way to campus I had ever seen. I remember thinking to myself that Brian was a poor freshman that didn't know how to get to campus in a timely manner, and I really felt bad for him because he was employed as an early morning custodian at the time. I made a mental note to show him a more direct route to campus on the way home. We went bowling and had tons of fun. We played two or three games, I don't remember, but I do remember that one game we made it a goal to get every point value possible (gutter ball, 1, 2...spare, strike).

Then we walked home, and as Brian directed me to walk around campus instead of across campus to go home, I realized that he was doing that on purpose to drag out the date. We went to the Malt Shoppe and then went home. Brian stayed at my apartment for a while and we just talked some more. Then it was time for him to go home, but we spent most of the weekend together which will be posted later.
